Everett voters have several convenient options to cast their ballot ahead of the Massachusetts State Primary on Tuesday, Sept. 1, including in-person early voting and vote-by-mail.
Early voting will be available at Everett City Hall, 484 Broadway, from Saturday, Aug. 22, through Thursday, Aug. 27. Residents who are not yet registered to vote have until Saturday, Aug. 22, to register. Voter registration will be available that day from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Voters who would like to vote by mail must submit their application by 5 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 25. The Massachusetts Secretary of the Commonwealth has mailed vote-by-mail application postcards to every registered voter, and ballots are expected to be mailed in early August.
On Primary Election Day, Tuesday, Sept. 1, all Everett polling locations will be open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. Registered Democrats and Republicans must vote in their respective party’s primary. Unenrolled voters (sometimes referred to as Independent voters) may choose either a Democratic or Republican ballot when voting in the primary.
The State Primary will determine each party’s nominees for state and local offices that will appear on the November General Election ballot. The Commonwealth’s nine statewide ballot questions will be decided during the November election.
