Paul Noonan

Retired Mass. Corrections Officer and Well Known Everett Ice Cream Man

Paul J. Noonan of Wakefield, formerly of Everett, entered into eternal rest unexpectedly, in the Bear Hill Healthcare in Stoneham/Wakefield, Tuesday, May 4. He was 79 years old. 

Born in Everett, Paul graduated from the Everett Vocational High School. He was a retired correctional officer from the Commonwealth of Massachusetts corrections department.  His was a face that could always been seen at school events, playgrounds and other Everett activities aiding and helping the youth in the C;ity of Everett. Hearing the bells or music from Noonan’s Ice Cream truck was always a welcoming sound. 

The beloved husband of Barbara J. (Christensen), he was the dear and devoted father of Kevin Noonan and his wife, Maria of Wakefield and the late Scott Noonan, dear brother of Leona Noonan and Virginia Noonan of Everett, and the late John Noonan, Corrine Heise and Geraldine Noonan and the loving and proud grandfather of Darius Noonan.

A private family viewing was held in the Cafasso & Sons Funeral Home, 65 Clark St. (Corner of Main St.) Everett, Tuesday, May 11 followed by his Funeral Mass in St. Patrick’s Church, Stoneham.  Burial followed at the Woodlawn Cemetery, Everett.
