Everett Man Arraigned in Fatal October Stabbing

According to Middlesex District Attorney Gerry Leone, 21-year-old Jose Luis Diaz-Aguilar, 21, of Everett, was arraigned in Malden District Court last week on a charge of murder, in the October 15, 2013 stabbing death Maynor Alexander Aguilar, 30, also of Everett.

Malden District Court Judge Dominic Paratore ordered Diaz-Aguilar held without bail, and ordered him back to court on December 5 for a probable cause hearing.

According to authorities, Everett Police responded to Hosmer Street around 9:45 p.m. on October 15 for a report of a fight. Upon their arrival, responding officers discovered a victim, Aguilar, evidencing multiple stab wounds. The victim was transported to Mass General Hospital where he was later pronounced dead.

Everett Police and State Police assigned to the Middlesex District Attorney’s Office launched an immediate investigation. Authorities allege that the victim went to Hosmer Street for a prearranged meeting with the defendant. Upon arrival, an altercation occurred, and the victim tried to flee but was stabbed multiple times. The victim was unarmed. According to District Attorney’s Leone’s office, evidence discovered at the scene and through the subsequent investigation confirmed the defendant’s role in the alleged attack.

The charges are allegations and the defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty.

A joint investigation into this case is on-going by Everett Police and State Police assigned to the Middlesex District Attorney’s Office.
