Two Men Indicted in Everett Bank Robbery

Robert Giannino, 34, of Medford has been indicted by a Middlesex Grand Jury for unarmed robbery and conspiracy in connection with the robbery of an Everett bank in January according to Middlesex District Attorney Girard Leone.

James Gordon Chase, his alleged accomplice, was charged with assault with a dangerous weapon and negligent operation of a motor vehicle in addition to robbery and conspiracy counts.

An arraignment date has not yet been set, said Leone.

Following the robbery of the bank on Route 16, police chased Gianinno, who ran to an awaiting car driven by Chase.

When confronted by a police officer, Chase apparently accelerated toward him.

The officer opened fire. He shot Chase.

The car took off. Later, police tracked it to an address in Saugus.

By January 7, both men had been apprehended, arrested, booked and arraigned in Malden District Court where both men were held without bail.
