Duperier, Dowe Compete at All-state Track Meet

Crimson Tide track and field performers Peter Duperier and Dexter Dowe competed against the best of the best Saturday at the 26th annual MIAA Indoor Track and Field All State Championship Meet held Saturday at the Reggie Lewis Track and Athletic Center.

Both had qualified for the All-State Meet by virtue of their strong performances the week before in the Division 1 Meet.

Duperier dashed to a 16th place finish in the highly competitive field in a time of 37.10. The winning time was 35.72.

Dowe tossed the shotput 45 feet, 2.5 inches for a final ranking of 22nd best in the state. Both Everett boys were the only entrants from the Greater Boston League in their respective events.

“Both Peter and Dexter had an outstanding indoor track season and I’m certain the outdoor season will be another great one for them as well,” said EHS head coach Shelanda Irish. “They set an example for our team and especially our younger athletes on how hard work can really pay off if you’re willing to put in the time and effort.

“Dexter and Peter worked hard at each and every practice and they truly earned their place at the All-State Meet,” added their coach.
