Pollyanna Soares, a resident of Everett since 2001 and Class of 2002 graduate of Everett High School, has started a children’s party entertainment business, Tickled Pink Children’s Party Entertainment.
Soares is a Class of 2006 graduate of Gordon College where she received a degree in Biblical and Theological Studies and Youth Ministries. She was a youth minister at Christ the King Presbyterian Church in East Boston for seven years.
At the church, Soares was involved in child care and youth events.
“A person approached me at a kids’ birthday party at the church and she was pointing out how the kids were all running around and had nothing to do,” said Soares. “She said to me, ‘It would be great if you could play games with them and entertain them.”
That suggestion gave Soares the inspiration to launch her new business and now she’s using her creativity to provide families with a charming party experience.
In addition to providing the traditional birthday party elements such as facepainting and balloon animals, Soares also specializes in spa parties, pirate scavenger hunts, and shows featuring her super alter-ego, Punky Princess.
“Punky Princess’s super power is that she is super prepared so she brings a trunk full of junk,” said Soares, who will appear in a pink, black and white costume as Punky Princess.
Soares is confident in her abilities to make each child’s party a special happening and a memory that the guest of honor will treasure.
“We will do creative things to keep children busy and entertained and help them use their imagination,” said Soares. “Our goal is to make sure everyone has a great time.”
Samantha Lahr, an Everett High Class of 2007 graduate, is assisting Soares in the business. Lahr plays the guitar and will lead children in sing-a-longs at the parties.
Soares said she will provide entertainment at parties for children in all age groups. Soares is fluent in Portuguese and has been receiving a lot of requests for Brazilian parties.
Tickled Pink Children’s Party Entertainment is available for children’s parties and events and will hopefully provide smiles and laughs to children for years to come. For further information, contact Pollyanna Soares at 617-230-9244.
