Maureen Cipriani

Retired City of Everett Procurement Officer

Maureen J. (Browne) Cipriani of Everett entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, September 8 at home surrounded by her loving family.  She was 61 years old. 

Born in Malden, Maureen was a Procurement Officer for the City of Everett, retiring in 2019. 

The beloved wife of Richard C. Cipriani for over 38 years, she was the dear and devoted “Mommy” of Kristin Cipriani of Boston and Lauren Cipriani-Espineira and her wife, Gemma Espineira of Jamaica Plain; loving daughter of Judith Browne of Everett and dear sister of Janet Mucci and her husband, Richard and Sharon Browne, all of Everett.  

Funeral arrangements were entrusted to the Cafasso & Sons Funeral Home, Everett. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Maureen’s  memory to the American Cancer Society, 3 Speen St., Framingham, MA 01701 would be sincerely appreciated. 

Lillian Borgosano

Of East Boston

Lillian C. Borgosano of East Boston passed away on September 8 at the age of 80. 

Born in Boston on April 8, 1941 to the late Gaetano and Mary (O’Leary) Borgosano, she was the cherished mother of John Borgosano Sr. of Woburn, dear sister of Mary M. Borgosano of Revere and the late Anthony Borgosano and his late wife, Diana; cherished grandmother of John Borgosano Jr., Danielle Borgosano and Frankie Borgosano and adored great grandmother of Lianna Borgosano.  She is also survived by her loving nieces, Brenda and Diana Borgosano. 

Following a visitation at the Paul Buonfiglio & Sons-Bruno Funeral Home, Revere on  September 13 was followed by a Funeral Mass at St. Anthony’s Church and interment in Woodlawn Cemetery.  For guest book, please visit www.buonfiglio.com

Louis “Leo” Higgins

DMD, FACD

Well Known Retired Everett Dentist

Louis “Leo” Higgins, DMD, FACD, 95, of Reading, formerly of Everett, passed away September 6 surrounded by his loving family.

Born September 9, 1925, he was one of eight children of Matthew and Katherine ( Kennedy) Higgins.  He grew up in Chelsea, graduated from Chelsea High School, served in World War II and was honorably discharged from the United States Navy as a signalman, third class.

He attended Northeastern University in the pre-dental program, and graduated from Tufts Dental School in 1954. He opened his dental office in Everett where he practiced for 37 years and worked as the Public Health Dentist in Everett City Hall giving back to the community he loved. He founded and was president of the Everett Dental Study Club and was active in Kiwanis for many years. 

He was the beloved husband of Mary (Marino) Higgins with whom he shared 70 years of marriage, devoted and loving Dad to Dr. Thomas L. Higgins and his wife, Suzanne of Longmeadow, Mary L. Higgins of Beverly, Kathy Keen and her husband, Ray of Reading, and the late Mark D. Higgins of New Hampshire. He is survived by five grandchildren: Kathleen and Shannon Donohue of Boulder Co, Matthew Higgins of San Diego Ca, William and Sophie Higgins of Vermont, Andrew Keen of Decatur, Ga, and Mark D Higgins of Barrington, NH, and two great-grandchildren, Evangeline and Jack Donohue of Colorado.  Lou was also a dear brother to his sister, Dorothy DiPesa of Revere and brother in law to Constance Brosseau of Everett and A. Jean Marino of Melrose.

Funeral arrangements were by the Cafasso & Sons Funeral Home, 65 Clark St. (Corner of Main St.) Everett. Interment with US Navy Military Honors was in the Charles Lawn Memorial Park, Reading.  Contributions in Louis’ memory to Operation Smile, 3641 Faculty Boulevard, Virginia Beach, VA 23453 would be sincerely appreciated.
