Local Students Earn Academic Honors

Everett students Graduate From Boston College High School

On Sunday, May 19, 2019 at Boston College High School’s 155th Commencement, President Grace Cotter Regan and the Board of Trustees presented diplomas to 253 members of the class of 2019. Mr. Stephen Hughes, a 1973 graduate of BC High and Principal of the school, gave the address.

Among the graduates were: Corey S. Mastrocola, who graduated with Academic Honors. He plans on Merrimack College in the fall.

Lucca Benvenutti Possamai, who graduated with Academic Honors and as a member of the National Honor Society. He plans on the Coast Guard Academy Prep School, Georgia in the fall.

Felipe Drumond Santos, who graduated with Academic Honors and as a member of the National Honor Society. He plans on Suffolk University in the fall.

Suliman Graduates From Commonwealth School in Boston

Nadin Suliman of Everett  graduated from Commonwealth School on June 7, 2019 and will attend Cornell University in the fall.

Suliman received a National History Day Honorable Mention.

Commonwealth School, located in Boston’s Back Bay, is an independent co-ed day school enrolling approximately 150 students in grades 9 to 12. Founded by educator and philanthropist Charles Merrill, Jr., the school is noted for its intellectual energy, connections to the city, and robust art, music, and athletic programs, all supported by a close-knit school community. Its alumni include actor Hamish Linklater, diplomat and author Peter Galbraith, musician Evan Dando, actress and filmmaker Kasi Lemmons, and geneticist David Altshuler.

Endicott College Announces Local Students Named to Dean’s List

Endicott College, the first college in the U.S. to require internships of its students, is pleased to announce its Spring 2019 Dean’s List students. In order to qualify for the Dean’s List, a student must obtain a minimum grade point average of 3.5, receive no letter grade below “C,” have no withdrawal grades, and be enrolled in a minimum of 12 credits for the semester.

Pierre Named to President’s List at Georgia State University

Nicole Pierre of Everett was named to the President’s List during the Spring 2019 semester at Georgia State University.

To be eligible for the President’s List, degree-seeking students must have earned a GPA of at least 4.0 for a minimum of nine semester hours of academic credit taken at Georgia State during the fall or spring term with no incompletes for the semester. Eligible students must have a minimum GPA of 2.0 for all classes taken at Georgia State.

Mitus Receives Degree From Georgia Tech

Daniel Mitus of Everett, has earned a Master of Science in Computer Science from the Georgia Institute of Technology in Atlanta.

Mitus was among approximately 3,800 undergraduate and graduate students who received degrees during Georgia Tech’s 257th Commencement exercises on May 3-4, 2019, at the McCamish Pavilion.

Lasell College Students Named to Dean’s List

Lasell College announced students named to the Dean’s List for their academic accomplishments in the Spring 2019 semester.

To be named to the Dean’s List, Lasell students must complete at least 12 credits as a full-time student and achieve a semester GPA of 3.5 or higher.

Brendan Amorin was named to the dean’s list at Tufts University for the Spring 2019 semester. Dean’s list honors at Tufts University require a semester grade point average of 3.4 or greater.

Guerrier Named to Dean’s List at American International College

Yasmeen Guerrier, of Everett, is among 463 students who have been named to the Spring 2019 Dean’s List at American International College. Dean’s List students are ful time students who have achieved a 3.3 to 4.0 GPA.

Fabrikarakis has Been Named to Dean’s List

Emmanuella Fabrikarakis of Everett has been named to the University of Delaware’s Dean’s List for the Spring 2019 semester.

To meet eligibility requirements for the Dean’s List, a student must be enrolled full-time and earn a GPA of 3.33 or above (on a 4.0 scale) for the semester.

JIANG  Graduates From Tufts University

Chuan Jiang of Everett graduated from Tufts University on May 19, 2019 with a degree in Art History (BA), during a university-wide commencement ceremony that featured an address by award-winning actress and activist Alfre Woodard.
