Barbara Arsenault

Of Everett

Barbara A. Arsenault of Everett passed away on June 20 at the Courtyard Nursing Care Center in Medford. She was 75 years old.

She was the beloved wife of the late Ernest J. Arsenault and the late Lawrence Davis, loving mother of Lawrence Davis of Middleton and James Davis of South Windsor, CT and cherished grandmother of Harrison Davis, Matthew Davis, and Shawn Davis.

Services will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations in Barbara’s name may be made to the American Heart Society at www.cancer.org

Ida Buoniconti

Of Everett

Ida (Leo) Buoniconti of Everett, born in Ciano, Italy, died on June 20.

She was the beloved wife of the late Aurelio, loving mother of Roberta Russo and her husband, Joseph of Danvers, Rita Legerstrom and her husband, David of Arizona and Joanne Melo and her husband, Lino of Salem; loving sister of Nunziate Leo and Maria Leo and the late Vencenzo, Rocco, Alfonso, Vittorio, Mario and Italo Leo as well as the late Josephine Cioffi and Anna Fiore. She is survived by four beloved grandchildren: Talia, Milana, Ava and Luciana and by many loving nieces and nephews both here and in Italy.

Paul Albert Schiappa

Owned Schiappa Tile Company for 33 years  

Paul Albert Schiappa passed away unexpectedly Wednesday afternoon, June 20. He was 75 years old.

Born in East Boston, the son of the late Guido and Anna (Vassallo) Schiappa.  Paul grew up in South Hadley where he attended public school and graduated from South Hadley High School with the Class of 1961.  Just after high school, Paul enlisted in the US Navy on August 29, 1961.  SR Schiappa was stationed on the USS Lorain County (LST – 1177).  He was honorably discharged on August 27, 1965.  Paul was very proud of the military and took great pride in being a part of defending his country during the Vietnam era.

Years after completing his time in the Navy, Paul became a self employed tile setter.  He owned and operated Schiappa Tile Company for 33 years before retiring in 2007.

Paul settled in Everett with his wife Sandra M. “Sandy” (Cregan).  The couple shared 44 years of marriage.

Paul was a late member of the US LST Association #1177 and a late member of the Loyal Order of Moose, Malden Lodge #1910.  Neighbors on Clark Street will always remember Paul sitting on his front porch with a warm smile and friendly wave, ready to say hello and share a story with anyone nearby.  He will be greatly missed by all who loved him.

The husband of the late Marilyn (Tarr) Schiappa, he was the devoted father of Deanna M. Jackson and her husband, Kent of Saugus, Janeen M. Canavan and her husband, Jeff of Stoneham, John O. Lombardi and his wife, Luciana of Peru and Denise F. Keohan of Maine; dear brother of Joseph Schiappa of Holyoke, Guido Schiappa of South Hadley and the late Rosemarie Stevens.  He is also lovingly survived by 10 grandchildren: Janeen Marie Castetter, Sofia Lombardi, Nadine Keohan, Mario Lombardi, David Keohan, Destiny Keohan, Kayla, Samantha, Victoria and Jaeda Jackson.

Funeral arrangements were by the Carafa Family Funeral Home, Chelsea. Interment at the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne was private. Donations in Paul’s memory may be made to the DAV – Disabled American Veterans P.O. Box 14301 Cincinnati, OH 45250 or on-line at www.dav.org
