EHS track teams get season underway

The Everett High boys and girls indoor track teams got the new season underway last week, taking on Peabody in a meet held at the Swampscott High fieldhouse.

Aidan Salih and Harchdy Souffrance were the top performers on the boys’ side, bringing home first places in their events. Harchdy won the 55 meter dash in a time of 6.5 seconds, while Aiman took the top spot in the 1,000 in 3:32.8.

Second-place finishers for the Crimson Tide who added three points to the Everett side off the scoresheet were: Clarence Jules in the 55 dash in 6.7; Mario Rivera in the mile in 5:39.1; and Arthur Rosa in the two mile in 13:24.

Contributing single points for the Crimson Tide cause with third-place performances were: Mario Sheard with a shotput toss of 38′-11″; Jean Rayginaldo in the 55 hurdles in 8.9; and Bryan DeSouza in the 300 dash in 42.4.

The EHS mile relay team edged their Peabody counterparts wth a clocking of 4:04 to Peabody’s 4:05. Peabody won the meet by a final score of 58-27.

For the girls, Cyara Lambert was the lone Lady Crimson Tide performer to win first-place in her event. Cyara captured the 300 dash with a clocking of 49.1.

Isabella Ricciardi grabbed second place in the mile in 14:59 and Nathalie Douyon took second in the 55 hurdles in 10.6. Douyon also earned a point with a third-place effort in the high jump with a leap of 4′-6″.

Third-place finishers who earned a point for the Everett cause were: Danielle Molina-Villalobos with a shootout toss of 26′-7″; Nacela Bond in the 55 hurdles in 10.6; Jessica Santos in the 55 dash in 7.9; and Diana Lemus in the 1000 in 4:15.6.
