Flora Barbara Romboli

40-year bookkeeper for Volpe Construction Company

Flora Barbara Romboli passed away August 27 at her home in Malden surrounded by her loving family.  She was 98 yeåars old.

Born and raised in Everett, the daughter ofå the late Louis and Santina (Cianciulli) Romboli, Flora attended Everett Public Schools and graduated from Everett High School, Class of 1935.  On August 30, 1943, Flora enlisted in the US Coast Guard as an apprentice seaman.  She was honorably discharged as Yeoman First Class on June 21, 1946.

 Upon returning home from the service, Flora worked as a bookkeeper in the accounting department of the Volpe Construction Corporation.  She dedicated over 40 years of service before retiring in the early 1990’s.

Flora has been residing in Malden for the last seven years but prior to moving to Malden, she was a long time resident of Everett.  Although not having any children of her own, she was the beloved aunt of numerous nieces and nephews and will be greatly missed by all who loved her.

Flora was pre-deceased by 10 siblings: Rina Coggio, Eleanor LaSpina, Arthur Romboli, Ada Naples, Lola Martini, Henry, Albert, Rudy Romboli, Gloria Wasileski and Louis Romboli.

Funeral services will be conducted in the Carafa Family Funeral Home, 389 Washington Ave., Chelsea today, Wednesday, August 31 at 11 a.m. An hour of visitation will precede the service from 10 to 11 a.m.  Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. Interment will follow the service at Woodlawn Cemetery in Everett

Assunta (DiRico) Antonelli of Everett, entered into rest on Wednesday, August 24, 2016 in the Massachusetts General Hospital, Boston. She was 84 years old. Assunta was born in Orsogna, Italy and lived in Everett for many years. Beloved wife of Nicolo’ Antonelli for over 63 years. Dear and devoted mother of Maria Giggie and her husband, David of Everett and Liliana Hiatt and her husband, Thomas of Endicott, NY. Sister of the late John and Nicola DiRico and Ida Rizzacasa. Loving grandmother of Stacy Giggie and her spouse, Jacquelyn Behenna, Stephen Giggie and his wife, Dena, Nicole Giggie, Nicholas Hiatt and Amanda Hiatt. Loving great-grandmother of Noah Ii, Tamina Hiatt and Sophia Giggie. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend Assunta’s visiting hours in the Cafasso & Sons Funeral Home, 65 Clark St. (Corner of Main St.) EVERETT, Friday, Aug. 26 from 4-8 p.m. Her funeral will be from the funeral home on Saturday at 9 a.m. followed by a funeral Mass in St. Anthony’s Church, 38 Oakes St., Everett, at 10 a.m. Late member of the Orsogna Women’s Club of Everett. Interment Puritan Lawn Memorial Park, Peabody. Contributions in Assunta’s memory to St. Anthony’s School Scholarship Fund, 54 Oakes St., Everett, MA 02149 would be sincerely appreciated.
