Familiar smiling face at former Johnnie’s Foodmaster in Medford

Michael C. Zappitelli of Everett entered into rest at home on Thursday, August 18 surrounded by his loving and caring family. He was 81 years old.

Born in Abruzzi, Italy, Mike lived in Everett for many years. For a number of years, he worked at Stride Rite Shoes as an assembler. He later worked at Teradyne Corporation. Recently, you could find Mike’s smiling face behind the deli counter at the former Johnnie’s Foodmaster in Medford which became the Stop & Shop. He was always ready to assist shoppers with their deli needs, making sure that the product tasted good and was sliced to perfection.

He was the beloved husband for over 55 years of Agnes J. (Alba) Zappitelli; dear and devoted father of Yolanda D’Amore and her husband, Joseph of Groveland, Frances DiVito and her husband, Joseph of Middleton and Michele Villemure and her husband, Scott of N. Andover; brother of the late Antoinetta Servello and loving grandfather of Christopher, Nicholas, Joseph and Lianna D’Amore and Nicole and Michael DiVito.

Funeral arrangements were entrusted to the Cafasso & Sons Funeral Home, Everett. Interment was at Woodlawn Cemetery, Everett. Contributions in Michael’s memory to American Brain Tumor Association, 8550 W. Bryn Mawr Ave., Ste. 550, Chicago, Ill 60631 would be sincerely appreciated.
