On Wednesday, April 29, the senior internship students in Everett High School’s Allied Health Academy visited Shriners Hospital for Children in Boston. The students enjoyed an informative presentation by Shriners Hospital Education Coordinator Carol Scott, MS, RN-BC. She talked to the students about growth and development, burn prevention and burn care. In addition, she gave the students a virtual tour of the hospital, providing a glimpse into a day in the life of a patient. Scott concluded her presentation by discussing, and taking questions about, the many career opportunities in burn care, including respiratory therapy, plastic surgery, nursing, and music, physical, and occupational therapies.
