Carmine Piantedosi

Of Piantedosi Baking Company of Everett and Malden

Carmine A. Piantedosi of Lynnfield died on August 23 from complications of a stroke at the Spaulding Rehabilitation Hospital in Salem. He was 93 years old.

Carmine spent 60 years building Piantedosi Baking Company in Everett and then Malden, alongside his brothers Joe and John creating specialty pastries, cakes and pies and in later years focusing only on breads. He had many hobbies and special interests including landscaping, water and snow skiing, swimming, carpentry and the collecting of model trains. He will be sorely missed by his family and friends.

He was the beloved husband of 64 years of Anne (Abbene) of Lynnfield; father of Thomas Piantedosi and his wife, Debra Bertocci of Carlisle, Robert Piantedosi and his wife, Regina of Boxford and Donna Schiff and her husband, Michael of North Andover; son of the late Salvatore and Mary Piantedosi; brother of John Piantedosi of Winchester and the late Joseph Piantedosi and is also survived by five grandchildren, Adam Piantedosi of Boston, Arthur and Carmine Piantedosi, both of Boxford and Kyle and Anna Schiff, both of North Andover.

A Funeral Mass will be held Thursday, August 28 in Our Lady of Assumption Church, Lynnfield at 10 a.m. Relatives and friends are invited. Visiting hours will be in the Salvatore Rocco and Sons Funeral Home, 331 Main Street, Everett, today, Wednesday, from 4 to 6 p.m. Entombment will be in the Piantedosi Family Mausoleum at Woodlawn Cemetery in Everett. iIn lieu of flowers, donations in Carmine’s memory may be made to the Spaulding Rehabilitation Network, Development Office, 1575 Cambridge Street, Cambridge MA 02138.
