Rachel Tozzi

Of Everett

Rachel C. Tozzi of Everett died on September 26.

She was the beloved daughter of the late Alfonso and Grace Tozzi; beloved sister of Marie Bianchi and the late Roland of Florida and Giuseppe “Joe” Tozzi and his wife, Marie of Everett and is also survived by many beloved nieces and nephews.

Joseph Guiffrida

Of Washington, DC

Joseph I. Guiffrida, a 50-year resident of Washington, DC, formerly of Malden, died on September 20.

Joe was a PGK, Washington, DC Council Knights of Columbus and member of the Legion of St. Mary in Washington, DC.

He was the beloved son of the late Joseph S. and Beatrice T. (Gitto) Guiffrida; loving brother of Angela Foresteire and her husband, John of Melrose and Maria P. Kretas and her husband, George A. of Wakefield; dear uncle of Theresa and Jason Robinson of Wakefield, George A. Kretas, Jr. of Everett and Stephanie Kretas Strongosky and Jamie Strongosky of Wakefield. He is also survived by five loving grandnieces and grandnephews.

Funeral arrangements were by the Cafasso & Sons Funeral Home, Everett. Interment was in Woodlawn Cemetery, Everett.

Marilyn Gaylardi

Active Member of the Connolly Center

Marilyn C. (Festa) Gaylardi of Everett died on September 24.

An active member of the Connolly Center, she was the beloved wife of Joseph S. Gaylardi; dear and devoted mother of Lisa Morgan and her husband, William of Revere and Lois Dulkis and her husband, Richard of Peabody; sister of Danny Festa and his wife, Mary of East Boston, John Festa and his wife, Phyllis of Revere, Karyn Russo and her husband, Michael of Everett and the late Judith Storella and her surviving husband, Lawrence of Revere; loving Nana of Lauren, Lia and Richard Dulkis, Jr.; sister-in-law of Dorothy Simonelli of Everett and is also survived by several loving nieces and nephews.

Funeral arrangements were by the Cafasso & Sons Funeral Home, Everett. Interment was private. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Marilyn’s memory to the Hospice of the North Shore, 75 Sylvan St. Ste 102, Danvers, MA 01923 would be sincerely appreciated.

Phyllis Barker

Of Malden, formerly of Everett

Phyllis V. (Zarba) Barker of Malden, formerly of Everett, died on September 27.

The beloved wife of the late Richard E., she was the mother of Frank of Stoneham, Patricia Ciovacco of Andover, Nancy Nazzaro of Malden and Michael of Saugus; sister of Mary Miraglia of Wakefield, the late Jimmy Zarba, Carmela Boike, Santo Zarba, Paula Brienze, and Josephine Otis. She is also survived by six grandchildren: Richard, Thomas, Janine, Nicole, Trevor, Felicia and the late George, Jr. and Anthony and by three great-grandchildren.

Her Funeral will be held from the Salvatore Rocco & Sons Funeral Home, 331 Main St., Everett on Friday, October 4 at 10 a.m. followed by a Funeral Mass in  St. Anthony’s Church, Everett at 11 a.m. Relatives and friends are invited. Visiting hours are Thursday from 4 to 8 p.m. Interment will be at Puritan Lawn Cemetery, Peabody. In lieu of flowers, donations in Mrs. Barker’s memory may be made to the Boston Childrens’ Hospital, 7 North NICU, 300 Longwood Ave., Boston, MA 02115. Katherine P. “Cookie” Magnotta of Everett died on September 22.

She was the beloved daughter of Phyllis (Damato) Magnotta and the late Carmen, Sr. ; beloved sister of Angie, Miele and her husband, Paul of Medford and Carmen, Jr. and his son, Carmen, both of Everett; loving aunt to Michelle Miele-Caloccia and her husband, Tom of Arlington, and nephew, Paul Miele, Jr. and his wife, Barbara of Burlington.

Christine M. (Berardino) Janes of Everett died on September 28.

A member of the Everett Arts Association, she was the devoted daughter of the late George and Florence (Caluchina) Berardino; beloved wife of John T. “Jack” Janes for over 45 years; dear and devoted mother of Tom Janes and his wife, Lauren of N. Reading and Dan Janes and his wife, Courtney of Alexandria, VA.; sister of Francis Berardino of Saugus; loving grandmother of John Thomas Janes, III, Benjamin W. Janes and Molly Janes.

Her funeral will be held from the Cafasso & Sons Funeral Home, 65 Clark St. (Corner of Main Street) Everett today, Wednesday, at 9 a.m. followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Anthony’s Church, 38 Oakes St., Everett, at 10 a.m. Interment will be private.
