Monday evening’s Common Council meeting was a disaster.
The questions seemed to be: “Do we have a budget? Did we vote properly on the budget? Do we need to revote on the matter? What exactly should be done?”
Nearly the entire meeting was spent in minutia about what constitutes an official vote and whether or not the city solicitor agreed and on and on.
If you watch this meeting on cable, you will find it painful.
It is always painful to view a meeting that goes from nothing to nowhere and when it is finally finished, absolutely nothing has been accomplished and nearly everyone watching or witnessing or participating in it cannot point to a single reasonable thing that was gained for all the talk.
There was quite a fuss but we still can’t figure out what was about.
