ExxonMobil has made a generous donation to Everett High School (EHS) to help honor the Crimson Tide football team for its undefeated season and Division 1 Super Bowl championship.
ExxonMobil Pipeline Company Administrator Mary Martel and Terminal Supervisor
Damian Guzman presented a $3,000 check to members of the EHS football program and the School Department on Thursday, Dec. 9 inside the Crimson Café.
The funds will be used to help the Everett Public Schools pay for this year’s team banquet, during which every member of the football program will be presented with jackets and championship rings. In addition, every member of the cheerleading team will receive a necklace commemorating Everett’s unforgettable 2010 season in which the team went 12-0 and captured the Greater Boston League championship before easily defeating Andover and St. John’s Prep in the Division 1 playoffs.
Superintendent of Schools Frederick F. Foresteire, Assistant Superintendent of Schools Charles Obremski, EHS Principal Louis Baldi, head coach John DiBiaso Jr. and tri-captains Matt Costello (#15), Manny Asprilla(#2) and Nick Chiarella (#51) were on hand to accept the donation from Martel and Guzman.
“ExxonMobil has been a loyal supporter of the Everett Public Schools,” Superintendent Foresteire said. “The company’s generous support has directly helped a wide range of students and programs.”
In recent years, ExxonMobil has donated $9,000 to the Everett Public Schools. Three years ago, the money was presented to the music department, while last year the money aided the high school’s innovative robotics program. This year, ExxonMobil’s gift represents the start of Everett High’s fundraising effort to make this year’s football banquet a successful and memorable one.
In the coming weeks and months, the Crimson Tide Football Club will be busy raising money to ensure that every member of the football and cheerleading teams are recognized for their contributions to this championship season. Contributions can be made to the Crimson Tide Football Club, P.O. Box 490922, Everett, MA 02149.
The banquet will be held on Sunday, April 3 at Anthony’s in Malden.
