National Night Out Tuesday August 3rd

Mayor Carlo DeMaria Jr. and the Everett Police Department invite all businesses, citizens, civic groups, organizations, and local officials to participate in Everett’s Seventh Annual National Night Out – America’s Night Out against crime. This year’s event will take place on Tuesday, August 3, at the Everett Recreation Center from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.

Everett’s National Night Out is a collaboration with the National Association of Town Watch (NATW,) a non-profit crime prevention organization which works in cooperation with thousands of crime watch groups and law enforcement agencies throughout the country, (source www.nationaltownwatch.org) Since starting in Everett in 2002 Everett’s National Night Out has seen over 300 families, residents, and community leaders attend the event each year. Organizers hope to double that amount this year.

This year’s event includes a free barbeque, slush, popcorn, games, prizes and fun for the whole family. Everett Police Department will offer home fingerprint kits, and there will be a Self Defense demonstration. The night will conclude with the traditional “Supporters Parade” in Glendale Square. This is a great way to meet your neighbors and friends in the community and show that Everett takes a stand against crime.
