Alice Tucker

Franklin resident

Alice G. (Andrews) Tucker of Franklin, formerly of Mission Hill, died on December 25.

The wife of the late George L. Tucker, she was the mother of Lawrence E. Tucker and his wife, Sandra, of Brockton, Thomas F. Tucker and his wife, Victoria, of Mission Hill, Alice “Rainy” DeCoste of Everett and Kathleen Mullineaux and her companion, Richard Durand, of Norfolk. She is also survived by 14 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren and three great great grandchildren. She was the mother in law of the late Donald DeCoste.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend her funeral today, Wednesday, December 30 at 10 a.m. in the Charles F. Oteri & Son Franklin Funeral Home, 33 Cottage St. Franklin. Margaret LaRusso

Active in Many Organizations

Margaret D. (Verdi) LaRusso of Everett died on December 23.

She was the past-president of the Italian-American Association of Everett and a member of St. Anthony’s Catholic Women League and past officer of the Inner Circle Club of the Ancient and Honorable Artillery Company.

She was the beloved wife of Anthony LaRusso for over 50 years; sister of Ann McGray of Salem, Constance Armitage of S. Carolina and Gloria Jones of Andover and the late Rose Indorato, Lucille Florentine, Jenny Cutone, Louise Chase, June Risano, Frederick Verdi and Anthony Verdi and sister-in-law of Pat LoRusso, Joseph and Phyllis LoRusso, Mary LoRusso and the late Sabato and Anna LoRusso, Rocco and Annie LoRusso, John LoRusso, Anthony and Carmella DiNuzzo, William and Theresa Hurst and Jean LoRusso. She is also survived by several loving nieces, nephews, grand nieces and grand nephews.

Rose Kiel

Former Everett resident

Rose (Procopio) Kiel, formerly of Everett and Somerville, died on October 13. She was 78 years old.

The wife of Wolfgang Kiel and mother of Christopher Kiel and his wife, Kimberly, of Michigan and Karen Cuneo and her husband, Paul, of East Kingston, NH, she was the sister of Frances Callahan of Revere, Mary Capra of Everett and Virginia Buttafuco of Peabody and the grandmother of Kristen Cuneo, Matthew and Anna Kiel.

A Memorial Service was held at Brookside Chapel and Funeral Home, Plaistow, NH.

 

Arthur Glufling

Retired Truck Driver

Arthur F. Glufling, a lifelong resident of Everett, died at home surrounded by his family after a period of failing health on Christmas Eve. He was 94 years old.

Born in Boston, he drove a truck for Rex Lumber Company in Cambridge. He has been retired for many years. A US Coast Guard veteran of World War II, he was a member of the VFW in Waltham.

He was the beloved husband of the late Martina R. (Landry) and the loving father of Arthur and his wife, Beverly, of Everett, Elizabeth DeStefano and her husband, Peter, of Peabody, John and his wife, Lorraine, of Winthrop, Paul of Malden, and Karen of Everett. He was the brother of Mary Smith of Stoneham and the late James and Beatrice Sechlin. He is also survived by seven grandchildren.

Funeral arrangements were entrusted to the Murphy O’Hara Funeral Home, Everett. Burial was in Woodlawn Cemetery.

 

Adam Chaet

Verizon employee

Adam B. Chaet of Revere died suddenly on December 24. He was 40 years old.

He was a Verizon employee and a member of IBEW Union Local 2222.

The beloved son of Richard H. Chaet of Ft. Meyers, FL and the late Evelyn R. Chaet, he was the loving stepson of Theresa Chaet; loving brother of Mark A. Chaet and his wife, Leslie, of Tewksbury and Keith J. Chaet of Mt. Laurel, NJ.; loving stepbrother of Nettie Veilleux and her husband, Yvan, of Florida and Joseph Galante of Lawrence and cherished uncle of Nicole and Alexis Chaet. He is also survived by several dear cousins.

Edward McRae, MD

Long time Everett obstetrician, part owner of former Everett News

Dr. Edward B. McRae of Everett died on December 23. He was 84 years old.

Dr. McRae was a US Army veteran of World War II, a 1951 graduate of Boston College and a 1955 graduate of Tufts University School of Medicine. He had a private practice in obstetrics and gynecology in Everett for many years. Dr. McRae was an affiliate of numerous Boston area hospitals serving on many medical boards and societies over the course of his long career and was also part owner of the former Everett News.

He was the former husband and loving friend of Louise T. (Nolan) McRae; loving father of Edward B. McRae of Everett, Susan E. Regan of Revere, and Ellen L. Pulice and her husband, Joseph, of Merrimack, NH; loving brother of the late William Jr., James, and Louise McRae. He is also survived by his cherished pets “grandkids” Cody, Smokey, Sydney, and Lucy.

Josephine J. “Jo” (LaGrassa) Maltese of Everett died on December 21.

She was the beloved wife of Salvatore B.; mother of Janis Schelfhaudt and her husband, Mark, of Tewksbury; sister of Mary Correnti, the late Grace Maffei and Philip LaGrassa and is also survived by two grandchildren Erica and Alex, nieces and nephews.

Charles Hanson

Owner of H&H Industrial Truck Service of Woburn

Charles T. Hanson of Malden, formerly of Everett, died on December 21.

He was a US Navy veteran of the Korean Conflict and the owner and service manager of H&H Industrial Truck Service of Woburn.

The beloved husband of the late Rosemarie G. (Cavignano) Hanson, he was the devoted father of Randall J. Hanson of Malden, Gail M. Scalli of Seabrook, NH. and Stacey A. O’Rourke and her husband, Thomas, of Malden; brother of Dorothy Lynch of Everett, Arthur Hanson of Lynnfield and the late Raymond, Walter, Francis “Hank,” Fredrick and George Hanson; cherished grandfather of Michael L. and Janelle M. Scalli, both of Newbury, and Randall J. and Ashley A. O’Rourke, both of Malden.

Cal Ripkin Baseball and Softball Coach

Bryan J. Garrity of Everett died on December 21.

Mr. Garrity was a coach in Everett’s Cal Ripkin Baseball and Girls Softballs teams.

The beloved husband of Michelle (Coolen) Garrity, he was the loving father of Megan, Rebecca, Colleen and Steven Garrity, all of Everett; beloved son of the late Paul and Madeline Garrity; loving brother of Richard Garrity and his wife, Priscilla, of Peabody, Gary Garrity and his wife, Holly, Patrick Garrity and his wife, Nancy, all of Saugus and Scott Garrity and his wife, Heather, of Everett. He is survived by his sisters-in-law Tracey Stevens and her husband, Gregg, and Anne Cosgrove and her husband, Sean, as well as many loving nieces, nephews and friends in the Everett community.

Lorraine M. (Worrell) Curreri, a longtime Everett resident, died on December 21. She was 74 years old.

The manager of Sarni Cleaners for over 25 years, she was the beloved daughter of the late Guy and Marie Worrell; loving wife of Ray Porter and the late Joseph Curreri; loving sister of the late James Worrell and the late Dorothy Filipowich; loving aunt of William Filipowich, Lorraine Troville, Dorothea Peters, and Ronald Filipowich; cherished great aunt of Scott J. Murphy, Jessica, Bill Jr., Nicholas, Christina, and Matthew Filipowich, Brian J. Jr. and Dennis Peters, and many other cherished great nieces and nephews; loving daughter in law of Tina Curreri and loving stepmother of Bill, Joe, and Shawn Porter.

Richard ‘Richie’ Floramo Sr.

Of Lynnfield, formerly of Everett

Richard J. “Richie” Floramo Sr. of Lynnfield, formerly of Everett, died on December 19.

He was the beloved husband of Grace (Rando); father of Richard J. Jr. “Ricky” and his wife, Krista, Jeffrey and his wife, Tina, and Anthony and his wife, Stefanie, all of Lynnfield; son of the late Placido and Mary; brother of Marie and Sharon, both of Saugus, and Thomas and his wife, Patricia, of Malden. He is also survived by seven grandchildren, Gabriella, Isabella, Jeffrey, Anthony, Francesca, Richie and Julia.

Valerie Zirpolo

Beachmont Revere resident

Valerie Zirpolo of Beachmont Revere, formerly of East Boston,  died on December 27.

The loving mother of Christina Zirpolo, she was the cherished daughter of Anthony “Junior” Zirpolo of Revere and Rubina (Carco) Zirpolo of Salem; dear sister of Kim Zirpolo of California, Anthony Zirpolo III of East Boston, John and Thomas Davy of Wilmington, Sophie and Toni Zirpolo, both of Everett. She is also survived by many uncles, aunts and cousins.

Phyllis Fanny Sico

Retired Candy Maker

Phyllis Fanny (Ragucci) Sico, a lifelong resident of Everett, died after a period of failing health at a local nursing home on December 27. She was 92 years old.

She was born in Everett, attended the Everett Public Schools and worked at a candy maker at Schrafft’s Candy in Charlestown.

She was the beloved wife of the late Pasquale Sico and the late Winston Bickford and the loving mother Robert Bickford of Everett and the late David Bickford, Carol Dapilito,and Arnold Bickford; the sister of Mary Marsala, Ida Natale, Eleanor Ragucci, Annettie Patton, Carmela Natale, and Gloria Ragucci and the late Charles, Carl, and Emilio Ragucci; the grandmother of Donna, Michelle, Michael, Paul, Kelly Ann, Nicole, Roberta, Shawna, Danielle, Holly, Christina, and Valerie and the step-mother of Jennie, Frankie and Joe Sico. Phyllis is also survived by 9 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She was the dear friend of Rose Marie Bellandi.

Her Funeral will be held from the Murphy O’Hara Funeral Home, 519 Broadway, Everett on Thursday followed by a Funeral Mass in the Immaculate Conception Church at 10 a.m. with Reverend Gerald Osterman officiating. Burial will be in Holy Cross Cemetery.
