John ‘Red’ ‘Jack’ Doyle

Everett Archivist, 42 year supervisor for Mystic Valley Gas and Electric

John A. Jack “Red” Doyle died on November 20 at his Everett home surrounded by his loving family after a period of failing health. He was 73 years old.

Born in Everett, A US Army veteran of the Korean Conflict, he worked as a supervisor for 42 years for The Mystic Valley Gas and Electric Company. He served as an Archivist for the City of Everett and was a member of Princemen’s Chorus, Everett Knights of Columbus 97, The Immaculate Conception Color Guard, and served on the Board of Directors of Secure Credit Union, He loved Everett and Everett politics and Everett loved him. His other passion in his life was his family and his grandchildren.

He was the beloved husband of Elizabeth M. (Courtney) and loving father of Beth Doyle of Worcester, Kathy and her husband, Denny Colbert, of Manomet, Trisha and her husband, Jack Ford, of Everett; brother of William of Wilmington, and Eleanor Hall of Malden; loving Grampy of Courtney, Daniel, Joseph, Connor, Shannon, and Jordan.

Funeral arrangements were by the Murphy O’Hara Funeral Home, Everett. Burial with full military honors was in Woodlawn Cemetery.

 

John DiCicco Jr.

Retired Power Burner Technician

John J. DiCicco Jr., a 30 year resident of Revere, formerly of Everett, died on November 21 at the Whidden Memorial Hospital after a short illness. He was 77 years old.

He attended Everett Public Schools and retired at age 62 as a Power Burner Technician for the Chandler Heating Co. of Melrose after 37 years of service.

He was the husband of the late Joan (Gillespie) DiCicco; beloved father of John III of Revere, Joanne DiCicco of New Hampshire, Jimmy and his wife, Laurie, of Beverly, and Jamie DiCicco of Winthrop; brother of the late Rose Paradiso and is also lovingly survived by six grandchildren Ava, Angela, Amanda, Elisha, all of Beverly, Olivia of Lynn and Karla of New Hampshire.

Funeral arrangements were by the William R. Carafa & Son Home for Funerals, Chelsea.

 

Mary Mastrangelo

Melrose resident

Mary B. (Barstow) Mastrangelo of Melrose died on November 20.

She was the beloved wife of the late Andrew J. Mastrangelo; loving mother of Andrew J. Mastrangelo and his wife, Elizabeth (Torpey), and MaryKate Isakson and her husband, Hunter, all of Melrose; caring sister of John N. Barstow and his wife, Maureen, of Melrose and Gregory G. Barstow and his wife, Gayle, of Nevada; cherished grandmother of Madeline E. and Andrew T. Mastrangelo and Tess H. Isakson.

Her Funeral will be from the Gately Funeral Home, 79 W. Foster St., Melrose, today, Wednesday, November 25 at 8 a.m. followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Mary’s Church, Herbert Street, Melrose at 9 a.m. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited. Italo Cipriani

Retired Foreman

Italo Cipriani of Chelsea died on November 20 at the Lighthouse Nursing Care Center in Revere. He was 88 years old.

Born in Abruzzi, Italy and a long time resident of the Everett area, he served in the Italian Army during World War II and retired as a foreman for the Globe Ticket Agency after 30 years of service.

The beloved husband of Maria (Pellegrini) Cipriani, he was the dear and devoted father of Anthony Cipriani and Cynthia Patten of Chelsea and Richard Cipriani and his wife, Maureen, of Everett; brother of Anna Cipriani of Chelsea and loving grandpa of Lauren and Kristen Cipriani of Everett.

John O’Leary

Boston Fire Department retiree

John J. O’Leary of Charlestown died on November 19.

A Boston Fire Department retiree and a US Army veteran of the Vietnam War, he was the beloved husband of Ann Marie (Hagerty); devoted father of Thomas M. O’Leary and his wife, Michelle, of Marshfield, John E. O’Leary and his wife, Shannon of Tewksbury and Michael S. O’Leary and his wife, Erin, of Charlestown; loving Papa of Brooke, Meadow, Molly and Elyse O’Leary; brother of Martha Sullivan of Chelmsford, Robert O’Leary of Everett, Geraldine Sullivan of Hamilton, Maryellen Clifford of Maynard and the late Joseph O’Leary.

Funeral arrangements were by the John H. Sawyer Funeral Home, Charlestown. Burial was in Holy Cross Cemetery, Malden.

 

Anthony Russo Sr.

Retired Everett School Administrator and Educator

Anthony P. Russo Sr. of Winchester, formerly of Everett, died at the Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston on November 15. He was 83 years old.

Born in Natick and a longtime resident of Winchester, Mr. Russo was a US Marine Corps veteran of World War II. He was an educator and administrator for the Everett Public Schools retiring after 41 years of service as principal of the former Devens School, Everett and a member of the Saugus-Everett Loge of Elks, No. 642, E Club of Everett, REAM and the Retired Municipal Employee’s Association.

He was the beloved husband of Brenda L. (Lewey); dear and devoted father of Anthony F. Russo Jr. and his wife, Alysia, of Tewksbury; brother of Philip Russo Jr. of W. Yarmouth and Letty Russo of Malden; loving grandfather of Anthony J. “AJ” Russo.

His funeral will be held from the Cafasso & Sons Funeral Home, 65 Clark St. (Corner of Main Street) Everett, Thursday at 8:30 a.m. followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Eulalia’s Church, 50 Ridge St., Winchester, at 10 a.m. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited. Visiting hours are today, Wednesday, from 4 to 8 p.m. Burial will be in Wilwood Cemetery, Winchester. Sililo Tipa Tanielu

Malden resident

Sililo Tipa Tanielu of Malden died on November 14.

He was the beloved husband of Carol A. (Byrd); devoted father of Tami Tanielu of Hawaii, Elena Fa’auiga Tanielu of Los Angeles, Rose Marie Johnson, Paul C. Johnson, J. Eric Johnson , Dr. Alfred M. Johnson and Peter M. Johnson, all of California; loving grandfather of Tylor N. Johnson and Kane A. Johnson. He is also survived by his sisters, Ula Sigfaloa of Hawaii and Fiapaipai Tanielu of Samoa and by many, many nieces and nephews.

Francesco ‘Frank’ Pezzuto

Saugus resident

Fancesco A. "Frank" Pezzuto of Saugus died on November 19.

A US Army veteran of World War II, he was the loving husband of Elaine (McEachern) Pezzuto; beloved father of Joya Pezzuto of Everett and Heather Nichols of Saugus; cherished grandfather of Kyle and Hailey; dear brother of Robert Pezzuto of Chelsea, Michael Pezzuto of Burlington and Richard Pezzuto of Chelsea.

John Murphy

Of New York, formerly of Everett

John J. Murphy of Rochester NY, formerly of Everett, died on November 18.

He was the beloved husband of the late Vivian (Cimini); loving father of James Murphy and his wife, Gertrude, of Rochester, NY, Paul Murphy and his wife, Julie Ribes, of Kentucky and Cheryl Agarwal and her husband, Navin, of Sudbury. He is also survived by six loving grandchildren, Megan, Katie, Patrick, Max, Darren and Tyler.

Arthur Siden

Of Peabody, formerly of Everett

Arthur B. Siden of Peabody, formerly of Everett, died on November 18.

A US Army Air Corps veteran of World War II, he was the beloved husband for 61 years to the late Jeannette (Miller) Siden; devoted father of Stephen and his wife, Wendy Siden, of Danvers, Stuart and his wife, Debbie Siden, of Natick, Richard and his wife, Amy Jo Siden, of Ashland; cherished grandfather of Matthew and his wife, Michelle, Jared, Jeremy, Andrew, Adam, Ashley and great-grandfather of Maia; loving brother of the late Dorothy Frye, Cele Low, Ann Klein, Miriam Siden and Edward Siden.

Funeral arrangements were entrusted to the Stanetsky-Hymanson Memorial Chapel, Salem-Swampscott line. Burial was in the New Tifereth Israel of Everett Cemetery, Everett. Charlotte ‘Charcy’ Darmody

Of Florida, formerly of Everett

Charlotte "Charcy" (Callinan) Darmody of Naples, FL, formerly of Everett, died suddenly on October 25.

A retired employee of the New England Telephone Co. and Nynex, she was the beloved wife of David G. Darmody of Naples, FL.; beloved daughter of Lorraine (Crafts) Callinan and the late Frederick "Cal" Callinan Jr.; beloved sister of Frederick P. Callinan and his wife, Debra, of Malden, Christina Griffen of Naples, FL, Diane Saia and her husband, Nicholas, of Everett, William "Bill" Callinan and his wife, Lan, of Everett, David Callinan and his wife, Kristen, of Naples, FL. and beloved aunt and great-aunt of many nieces and nephews. She was a cousin and Godmother to many.

Her Funeral Mass was celebrated at the Immaculate Conception Church, Everett.

 

George Servitelli Jr.

Revere resident

George S. Servitelli Jr. of Revere died on November 16.

He was the cherished son of the late George S. and Frances Bryne; dear brother of Dorothea Aldrich of Florida, Estelle Kiska of Ohio and the late Rosalie Lewis and May Servitelli.

George Pompeo

Everett resident

George F. Pompeo of Everett died suddenly on November 16.

He was the beloved husband of Cynthia (Yerxa) Pompeo; devoted father of George D. Pompeo of New Hampshire and Brenda Pompeo-D’Alessandro and her husband, John J. D’Alessandro, of Wakefield; loving brother of Joseph Pompeo and his wife, Sheila, of Everett; loving grandfather of Amanda and John George D’Alessandro, both of Wakefield and is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Carmela (DeNardo) Leo of Everett died on November 16.

Born in Bracigliano Salerno Naples Italy, she was the beloved wife of Rocco; mother of Angelo of Derry, NH. and Vincent of Winchester; sister of Immaculata Tenori and Giusseppe Amabile, both of Italy, Vincenzo LeNardo of Everett, Benito DeNardo and Maria Giordano, both of Italy, Anna Pannullo of Everett, Rocco DeNardo of Italy and the late Tanolla Roscigno. She is also survived by eight grandchildren, Rocco, Vincent, Nicholas, James, Angela, Alexander, Arianna, April. and two great grandchildren, Rocco and Isabella.

Of Brookline, formerly of Everett

Sara (Tater) Henken of Brookline, formerly of Everett, died on November 15. She was 102 years old.

The devoted wife of the late Dr. Joseph Henken who lived and worked on Broadway and served as the family doctor for many Everett residents, she was also the beloved mother of Fran and her husband, Arnold Marrow; cherished grandmother of Joseph and Steven Marrow; proud great grandmother of Rebecca, Evan and Brandon; dear sister to the late Lillian, Gertrude, Rose, Anne, Saul, Joseph, Max and Sam.

Assunta ‘Sue’ Wigandt

Somerville resident

Assunta A. "Sue" (Cianchetta) Wigandt of Somerville died on November 14.

She volunteered for many years at St. Anthony’s Shrine in Boston and Mt. Auburn Hospital. She was an avid reader, a doll collector and loved to exercise. She will be truly missed by her family and her friends at Little Sisters of the Poor.

She was the beloved wife of the late James L Wigandt; loving auntie of Nancy Cianchetta of Everett and Antoinette "Toni" Cianchetta of New Hampshire and dear sister of the late Emidio "Ralph" Cianchetta.

BU Medical Center retiree

Betty Grace Luongo, a longtime resident of Malden, died unexpectedly at Boston Medical Center on November 12. She was 72 years old.

Born in Boonsville, MO, she was a registered nurse and retired from Boston University Medical Center after 31 years of service.

She was the beloved daughter of Lennie Fariss of Georgia; dear and devoted mother of Christopher Luongo, Janet Giuliano and her husband, David, all of Malden; sister of Thomas Fariss of Virginia; loving grandmother of Christina Bernbum and Gianna Iuliano and is also survived by her former husband and close friend, William Luongo of New Hampshire and Shorty, the dog. She was loved by all and will be greatly missed. “RIP Mom, I don’t know what we’ll do without you.”
