Mayor Carlo DeMaria is pleased to announce that Heidi Porter, MPH, RS/REHS, is joining the City of Everett as Public Health Director. The Mayor is thrilled to welcome Ms. Porter and her vision of developing a dynamic, twenty-first century Health Department. She will achieve this through collaboration with residents, city departments and state and community partners and coordination and execution of public health promotion and disease prevention programs.
“I am confident that Ms. Porter will be a strong asset to the City of Everett, “ states Mayor DeMaria, “the department has a strong history in the community and Heidi’s is a welcome addition.”
Ms. Porter has a Bachelors of Science from Tufts University and a Masters Degree in Public Health from Boston University, School of Public Health. She is a Registered Sanitarian and serves on the executive board of a state public health association. Prior to accepting this position, she served as Environmental Engineer for the Town of Burlington Board of Health and as a Division Manager with Hygienetics Environmental. Ms. Porter brings experience and a proven track record of success in development of public health policy, emergency preparedness planning and public health leadership, which will be invaluable in accomplishing City of Everett and Health Department goals and objectives.
