Mayor Carlo DeMaria and the Office of Veterans Services held a hugely successful flag placement event this past Saturday, May 18th. Families, Boy Scout troops and residents came together to help place flags on Veterans graves at the Woodlawn Cemetery for Memorial Day.
“Saturday was a great day,” state Mayor DeMaria, “We had an outstanding turnout who volunteered their time and paid their respects to those servicemen and women who gave so much, many the ultimate sacrifice, to uphold our democratic ideals of liberty and peace.”
A reminder that this year’s Memorial Day Ceremony will be held at the Veterans Plaza, at the entrance of Everett Veterans Memorial Stadium on Monday, May 27th. Attendees will begin to assemble at 9:30AM and services will start promptly at 10am.
