Maeve Kernan brought home first place in the two mile run for the Everett High girls track team in their meet last week against Somerville. Maeve ran to victory in a time of 13:10.8.
Other Lady Crimson Tide performers who earned points were Amber Whitney with a second place effort in the 400 meter hurdles in 1:29.3; Daryl Colson with a second in the 100 meter hurdles in 19.2 and a third in the shot put with a toss of 25-1; Naeva Richemond with a third place finish in the 100 meter dash; Jessica Mangan with a third in the mile in 6:50; and co-Captain Katie Steeves with a third in the 200 meter dash.
“I thought we had some good performances for the first meet,” said EHS head coach Shelanda Irish. “We scored in a few events where I didn’t think we would score, including the boys high jump and the 400 meter hurdles for both boys and girls.
The girls track team travels to Malden tomorrow (Thursday) for a meet at 3:45.
