Fatal Pedestrian Crash in Everett Is Now Under Investigation

The Middlesex District Attorney’s Office is investigating a fatal pedestrian crash that occurred at approximately 9:30 p.m. at the intersection of Revere Beach Parkway/Route 16 and Vine Street in Everett on Aug. 31.

The preliminary investigation suggests the operator of a Dodge Charger was traveling through the intersection with a green light when the pedestrian, a 62-year-old Melrose man, was struck while crossing Revere Beach Parkway in the area of a crosswalk. The operator of the vehicle remained on scene and attempted to render aid to the victim.  The victim was transported to CHA Everett where he was subsequently pronounced dead. The operator was also transported to an area hospital as a precaution. This is an ongoing investigation being conducted with the Middlesex District Attorney’s Office, Massachusetts State Police and the Massachusetts State Police Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Section. No charges have been filed.
