Mayor Carlo DeMaria and the Everett Police Department are pleased to report on the success of the Junior Police Academy’s recent visit with the Massachusetts’ State Police.
On July 18th, over 50 of the City’s youth who are participating in the Junior Police Academy program enjoyed a visit by the MA State Police at 7-Acre Park. During the visit, participants were able to sit in a State Police helicopter and ask any questions they may have had for the State Troopers.
“The Jr. Police Academy has continued to be an important program for the youth of our City,” states Mayor DeMaria, “It has become a powerful combination of instilling responsibility, self-assurance and character within our children.”
The Junior Police Academy is designed to motivate young people to be outstanding citizens through law enforcement education. While being a part of our community-policing program, the Junior Police Academy encourages young citizens to be partners, in building a safer community.
