Mayor Carlo DeMaria recently visited with the Junior Girl Scouts from Troop 71074, who were painting the utility box located at the intersection of Broadway and Cameron Streets (in front on McKinnon’s Market).
The Troop was participating in the Mayor’s ongoing initiative to paint the utility boxes around the City in an effort to curb graffiti and vandalism and encourage and promote art and beautification. The slogan the girls incorporated into their mural is “Make the World a Better Place.”
“I am thrilled at the level of participation we have had to add artwork to our City utility boxes,” states Mayor DeMaria, “Local artists, and now the youth organizations, in our City are doing an excellent job of making our City a cleaner, more beautiful place. I extend my appreciation to Troop 71074 for taking part in this program.”
Other artists or groups interested in participating should contact Alyson Dell Isola, Director of Communications, at 617-394-2454.
