Local turnout held steady as Everett residents headed to the polls for the 2026 State Primary election. According to unofficial tally figures, 3,315 ballots were cast out of the city’s 25,424 registered voters.
At the top of the ticket, the high-profile Democratic U.S. Senate primary saw incumbent Edward J. Markey carry the city with 2,043 votes over challenger Seth Moulton’s 616 votes.
Voters also weighed in on several contested Democratic primary races down the ballot:
- Governor’s Council (Sixth District): Incumbent Terrence W. Kennedy won local support with 1,655 votes against challenger Diann Mary Baylis, who secured 752 votes.
- Northern District Attorney: Incumbent Marian T. Ryan earned 1,804 votes in Everett, while challenger David Marc Solet received 592 votes.
Meanwhile, Democratic candidates running uncontested on their party’s primary ballot brought in strong local tallies:
- Governor: Maura Healey received 2,285 votes.
- Lieutenant Governor: Kimberley Driscoll received 2,216 votes.
