Busy Week for EHS Boys, Girls

The Everett High boys and girls basketball teams will engage in a full schedule in the coming week.

Coach Gerry Boyce’s boys’ squad, which stands in a tie for first-place with Lynn English in the Greater Boston League (GBL) with a 7-1 record (8-3 overall), was set to take on the Bulldogs last night (Tuesday) in a winner-take-all showdown for first place.

The Crimson Tide defeated English, 65-61, in their first meeting earlier in the season, but Everett subsequently was upset by Revere, leaving the Tide and the Bulldogs deadlocked for the top spot in the GBL.

The Everett boys will host GBL foe Somerville tomorrow evening (Thursday) for a 7:00 opening tip and then will entertain Revere next Thursday.

Coach Riley Dunn’s girls’ squad will play five games in 11 days: They were set to travel to English last night (Tuesday) and to Somerville tomorrow (Thursday) evening. The Lady Crimson Tide then will host non-league opponent New Mission on Monday at 5:30 and Somerville next Tuesday at 6:00 before traveling to Revere next Thursday.
