Marshall Woodard

Of Everett

Marshall Woodard of Everett died suddenly on September 14.

The beloved husband of Kathy (Benko), he was the step-father of Alix Bakeman and her fiancé, Chris McDonald, Michael Bakeman and his wife, Marion Thompson and Adam Bakeman and his fiancé, Phoebe Short; son of Hazen and Marjorie (Booth) Woodard and brother of John Woodard and Hazen Woodard and his wife, Linda.

Concetta ‘Connie’ Cataldo

Of Everett

Concetta “Connie” (Cosentino) Cataldo of Everett died on September 14.

The beloved wife of the late James J. “Jim” Cataldo, she was the loving mother of Camille Coviello and her husband, David of Stoneham, James J. Cataldo, Jr. and his wife, Pamela of North Reading and Joseph D. Cataldo of Wellesley; loving sister of Louise Rossetti, William Cosentino and Andrea Cavallaro. She is also survived by seven beloved grandchildren: Joseph, Anthony, Christie, James III, Philip, Joseph J. and Angelo, and five beloved great grandchildren, Jessica, Kyle, Korey, James IV and Thomas and by her beloved nephew, Dennis B. Cataldo and his wife, Terry and their children, Casey and Nicole.

Celia Marie Ronan

Nurse’s assistant at former Malden Hospital

Celia Marie (Nee) Ronan, a lifelong Everett resident, entered into rest on Sunday, September 10 in the Glen Ridge Nursing Center in Medford after a brief illness. She was 87 years old.

Born in Everett, Celia was a graduate of Everett High School and worked for many years as a nurse’s assistant at the former Malden Hospital.

She was the beloved wife of the late John J. Ronan, Jr.; dear and devoted mother of John J. Ronan, III and his wife, Patricia of Malden, Joseph C. Ronan of Everett, Mary Foresta and her husband, Victor of Swampscott, Maureen Pacheco and her husband, James of N. Andover and the late Celia Strunk; sister of John Nee and his wife, Kathy of Malden, Peggy Bond and her husband, Thomas of Everett, Kay Travalini of Peabody, Nancy Supino of Everett and the late Joseph Nee, Thomas Nee and his surviving wife, Clarellyn of Everett, Mary Cappuccio and Sally Finn; loving grandmother of John J. Ronan, IV and his wife, Lyndsay, Matthew Ronan and his wife, Meredith, Joseph C. Ronan, Jr. and his wife, Gia, Erin Marie Ronan, Santino Foresta and Ryan DiFilippo and loving great-grandmother of Jack Ronan, V, Thomas Ronan, Emmy Lucia Ronan and Addison Celia Ronan.

Funeral arrangements were by the Cafasso & Sons Funeral Home, Everett. Interment was in Holy Cross Cemetery, Malden. Contributions in Celia’s memory to Malden Catholic High School Scholarship Fund, 99 Crystal St., Malden, MA 02148 would be sincerely appreciated.

Valerie Vacca-Fournier

Owner of “Inner Voyage” Bookstore in Everett

Valerie Vacca-Fournier of Everett died on September 10.

Valerie was very involved with self-help recovery groups, most specifically, through her bookstore in Everett named “Inner Voyage.”

She was the dear friend of Donald Cassell of Everett; mother of Rita Barnett-Rose and her husband, Steven of California and Paul of Oregon; sister of Ronald Vacca of Everett and the late Frank J. Vacca. She is also survived by four grandchildren: Sophie, Claire, Sydney and Brooklynn.

Funeral arrangements were by the Salvatore Rocco & Sons Funeral Home, Everett. Interment was in the Glenwood Cemetery, Everett. Lloyd ‘Nick’ Nickerson

Of Everett

Lloyd “Nick” Nickerson of Everett died on September 15.

Nick loved riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle and playing country music.

The beloved husband of Margaret (Libby), he was the father of Lloyd E. and the late Kimberly M., brother of the late Edward and is also survived by two grandchildren, Todd Freeman and Michael Nickerson.

Visiting hours will be in the Salvatore Rocco & Sons Funeral Home, 331 Main St., Everett Thursday, September 21 from 4 to 8 p.m. Complimentary valet parking will be available during Thursday’s visitation. A funeral will be held the following morning, Friday, September 22 in the Funeral Home at 11 a.m. A prayer service will promptly start at 11:30 a.m. Relatives and friends are invited. Interment will be in the Puritan Lawn Cemetry, Peabody. In lieu of flowers, donations, in Nick’s name, may be made St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
