Josephine Capua

Josephine (Tarantino) Capua, a longtime Everett resident, died at the Massachusetts General Hospital on January 3. She was 92 years old.
Born in East Boston, she was a retired clothing industry seamstress.
She was the beloved wife of the late Alfred J. Capua; dear and devoted mother of Leonard Capua of Everett, Alfred Capua and his wife, Diane of Lawrence and Dolores Capua and Debra Capua of Everett; sister of Jennifer Cali of Everett, twin sister of Angelina Rappa of Everett and the late John Tarantino, Dominic Tarantino, Connie Giannelli, and Mary Donati; loving grandmother of Anthony Capua, Andrew Capua and his wife, Carrie, Michelle Capua, Denise Capua and Karen Porter and her husband, Corey and great-grandmother of Stephen McKinnon and Austin Porter.
Funeral arrangements were by the Cafasso & Sons Funeral Home, Everett. Burial was at Woodlawn Cemetery, Everett. Memorial contributions to the American Heart Association, 30 Speen St., Framingham, MA 01701, would be sincerely appreciated.

Evelyn L. (Walkey) Melvin, a lifelong resident of Everett, died on December 30. She was 87 years old.
She was a former eight year volunteer at the Whidden Hospital in Everett, a member of the Everett Historical Society and enjoyed square dancing, sewing and traveling.
She was the beloved wife of Robert E. Melvin with whom she shared 66 years of marriage; devoted mother of Lorene I. Melvin and her husband, Edward Sokoloski of Arlington, Sandra J. Melvin of Norfolk and her partner Glenn Gordon; dear sister of Marilyn Perkins of Everett and the late Norma Donoghue and is also lovingly survived by many nieces and nephews.
Funeral arrangements were by the William R. Carafa & Son Home For Funerals, Chelsea. Funeral services and cemetery were private. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to The MSPCA – Angell Attn: Donations 350 S. Huntington Ave. Boston, MA 02130.
