EHS girls win 4 x 400 relay

The foursome of Katie Steeves, Maeve Kernan, Sarah Fischer, and Sashae Walls captured the 4 x 400 relay for the Everett High girls track team in their season opening meet with Somerville last week.

Although that proved to be the only winning effort for the Lady Crimson Tide, a number of the members of the team turned in third place efforts in individual events to add points to the Everett score sheet: Walls in the 400 hurdles in 1:21; Kernan in the two mile in 13:40; Steeves in the 400 in 70.0; Delmis Urquiza in the 800 in 2:53.3 and in the shotput with a heave of 21-2.5; Kassandra Sampson with a toss of 67.6 in the discus; and Daryl Colson with a javelin throw of 67-2.5.

The girls, whose scheduled meet with Lynn Classical last Friday was postponed, will travel to Malden tomorrow (Thursday).
