EHS Boys Soccer Falls in State Tourney

The Everett High boys soccer team’s magical season came to an end last Friday with.a 5-0 loss at Barnstable in the opening round of the MIAA Division 1 boys state soccer tournament.

The Crimson Tide entered the tourney as the 33rd seed in D-1 with a record of 14-3-1, while Barnstable was the 32nd seed with a mark of 12-2-4.

Coach Pedro Blas’s Everett squad had concluded its regular season with an incredible run of 11 undefeated contests (10–0-1) that vaulted the Tide to an undisputed Greater Boston League title in the final week of the GBL season when Everett defeated Lynn Classical, 5-1, and Somerville, which had been in first place all year, fell to Revere, 4-2.

The Crimson Tide finished with a final league record of 11-2-1, while Somerville finished at 11-3. Everett had set the stage for its shot at the GBL title with a victory over the Highlanders in the final two weeks of the season.
