Everett Celebrates the Month of the Francophonie

Mayor Carlo DeMaria is pleased to announce that the City of Everett in collaboration with the French Consulate of Boston, the Haitian Consulate of Boston, the Everett Haitian Community Center, and other Francophonie constituents of the City of Everett will be raising the French flag to celebrate the Month of the Francophonie. The ceremony will occur on Wednesday, March 24, at 11:30 a.m. outside of City Hall on Broadway.

“I am excited to celebrate the Month of the Francophone,” said Mayor DeMaria. “Members of our community have deep ties to French heritage and other Francophonie cultures and I am proud to raise the French flag to recognize the month. It is my hope that our community can join together and continue to celebrate all cultures and traditions.”

In accordance to social distancing guidelines, the ceremony will be closed to the public and will be made available to watch on Facebook Live. Residents are welcomed to participate in the ceremony through Mayor DeMaria’s Facebook page, @mayordemaria.
