EHS girls basketball hosts Reading tonight in state tourney game

The Everett High girls basketball team will open play in the Division 1 North Sectional of the MIAA State Basketball Tournament this evening when the Lady Crimson Tide will host Reading. The tip-off is set for 7:00 at Everett High.

Coach Tammy Turner and her crew enter the tourney as the fourth seed in the 16-team D-1 North with a sterling 16-4 record. Reading is the 13th seed with an 11-9 mark.

If the Lady Crimson Tide are successful this evening, they will advance to the quarterfinals and will entertain the winner of tonight’s contest between #5 Cambridge and #12 Belmont at a date to be determined.

EHS hockey team meets Latin in tourney

The Everett High hockey team was set to meet Boston Latin last night (Tuesday) in the opening round of the Division 2 North Sectional of the MIAA State Hockey Tournament.

Coach Alex Naumann and his crew compiled a 12-7-1 record during the regular season and are the eighth seed in the D-2 North. Latin is the ninth seed with an 11-6-3 mark.

The winner will advance to the quarterfinal round to meet the victor of the contest between top-seed Masconomet and 16th-seeded Stoneham. The date and venue of that contest have yet to be announced.
