Carmelina De Simone

Retired Seamstress

Carmelina (Guarino) De Simone of Everett died on January 26 at the Wilmington Health Care Center. She was 86 years old.

A retired seamstress, she was born in Mirabella, Eclano, Italy and emigrated to the United States on March 4, 1966, living in Boston for many years and then moving to Everett.

She was the beloved wife of the late Antonio.  She is survived by her sons: Luigi De Simone and his wife, Dawn of Methuen and Alfonso De Simone and his wife, Maria of Wilmington; a daughter, Maria Teresa Cutone and her husband, Albert of Wilmington; seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren; her brothers: Michele Guarino of  Boston, Pasquale “Pat” Guraino of Everett and the late Ernanino and Federico Guarino.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to  attend Carmelina’s visiting hours in the Cafasso & Sons Funeral Home, 65 Clark St. (Corner of Main St.) Everett today, Wednesday, January 29  from 4 to 8 p.m. Her funeral will be held from the funeral home on Thursday at 9 a.m.  followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Anthony’s Church, 38 Oakes St. Everett at  10 a.m.  Entombment will be at Holy Cross Chapel Mausoleum, Malden.  Contributions in Carmelina’s memory to St. Anthony’s Church would be sincerely appreciated.

George Richardt

Retired Everett School Custodian; former Member of Everett KofC

George F. Richardt of Byrdstown, Tenn, a former longtime resident of Malden and Everett before moving to Tennessee, died in Tennessee on January 25.  He was 54 years old.

Born in Malden, he was a retired custodian for the city of Everett School Department and a former member of the Everett Knights of Columbus #97.

He was the beloved husband of Melissa (Ford); dear and devoted father of Aaron Richardt of Tennessee; loving son of the late Theordore and Helen (Demers) Richardt; devoted brother Mary A. Vaughan of Everett and David G. Richardt of Salem and is also survived by several nieces, nephews, grand-nices and grand-nephews.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend George’s Memorial Mass in the Chapel of the Immaculate Conception Church, 600 Pleasant St.,  Malden on Saturday, February 1 at 9 a.m.  Burial will be private.  Contributions in George’s memory to the charity of one’s choice would be sincerely appreciated.  Arrangements are by the: Cafasso & Sons Funeral Home

Gloria Wasileski

Lifelong Everett Resident

Gloria S. (Romboli) Wasileski, a lifelong resident of Everett, died unexpectedly on January 23. She was 88 years old.

She was the wife of the late Henry W. Wasileski; beloved mother of Leonard “Lenny” W. Wasileski and his wife, Millie of Peabody, Karen A. Bontempo and her husband, Michael of Saugus, Lois W. Passemato and her husband, John of Saugus; dear sister of Flora Romboli of Malden and was pre-deceased by five brothers and four sisters. She is also lovingly survived by four grandchildren: Chrissy Gulla and her husband, Billy of Peabody, Sharon DiLello of Tyngsboro, Jessica Nolan and her husband, Dennis of Danvers and John Passemato of Saugus and seven great-grandchildren and by numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were conducted at The Chapel at Woodlawn, Woodlawn Cemetery in Everett followed by interment at Woodlawn Cemetery. Arrangements were by William R. Carafa & Son Home For Funerals, Chelsea.

Herbert Strong

Retired Cab Driver and Teamsters Union Member

Herbert A. Strong of Everett passed away on January 21. He was 93 years old.

Mr. Strong was a member of the Teamsters Union Local #25 and was also a cab driver for over 25 years.

He was the beloved husband of  Grace E. (Gabriel) Strong; loving father of Paul Strong and his wife, Alison, Kevin Strong and his wife, Cynthia, Kathleen Cataldo and her husband, Anthony, Maureen Strong, and Mary Garland and her husband, Russell and the late Thomas Strong and his surviving wife, Kathleen; loving brother of the late Alice Brown, Evelyn Merchant, Madeline Adams, Thelma Burke, Leonard, William and Walter Strong. He is also survived by seven7 cherished grandchildren and 6 cherished great grandchildren. Funeral arrangements were by  the JF Ward Funeral Home,  Everett.
