Everett’s win sets up an early season battle of undefeateds with No. 1-ranked Xaverian Brothers High School Friday (7 p.m.) at the Hawk Bowl in Westwood.

Freni had touchdown runs of 19 and 17 yards and threw a 37-yard touchdown pass to Jamauri Dulin, who also had a 66-yard run for a touchdown.

Joao Barreiros (4 carries, 100 yards) had a 15-yard run for a touchdown while Steve Thomas completed the scoring with an 18-yard TD run in the fourth quarter.

“We’re very proud of the early-season victories,” said DiLoreto. “The players have really worked hard in the weight room, on the practice field, and also studying their game plans and doing their very best as a team to improve their performance on a daily basis. We’re looking forward to seeing how we match up against the best team (Xaverian) in the state.”
