Everett High Pays Tribute to Sports Great Stephen Anzalone

The Everett High athletic program honored three-sport standout Stephen Anzalone with a moment of silence before the game. Mr. Anzalone died on April 2, 2024 at the age of 70.

Public address announcer Josh Del Gaizo delivered a beautiful tribute on behalf of the Everett school community to “the late great Steve Anzalone.”

“Mr. Anzalone is a Crimson Tide legend,” Del Gaizo said. “A member of the Everett High Class of 1971, Mr. Anzalone captained the 1970 team that went 6-2-1 on route to the Greater Boston League title.”

It was also noted that “Steve Anzalone was a Boston Globe First Team All-Scholastic as a senior and played football at Boston College before enjoying a long and successful career at Malden District Court, retiring as a first assistant chief probation officer in 2016.”

“Throughout his life, he remained a friend to the Crimson Tide football program,” Del Gaizo concluded respectfully before requesting the crowd stand for a moment of silence for one of the greatest athletes in Everett High School history.
