Theresa Shalsi

Everett Community Activist

Theresa L. (Ragucci) Shalsi of Everett passed away on November 24.  

A lifelong resident of Everett, she was a graduate of Everett High school, a cheerleader and a drum majorette. She was a dancer at Arthur Murray studio, a ballroom dance instructor and thoroughly enjoyed tap dancing.

Theresa taught cake decorating for many years at Everett High School, which was her passion. She had her own television show on ECTV Ch.3, Nona’s Cakes & Co., where she filmed the process, step by step, for cake decorating. She donated many decorated cakes to the City of Everett for various functions. 

Theresa was very much involved in her community. She donated her time to do various things around the city, such as cleaning the Immaculate Conception Church, volunteering at St Anthony’s Church and she was also a Trustee for the Everett Public Library.

She worked for the City of Everett for many years. at the Parks Department and the Board of Health and most recently, she was the receptionist at City Hall. She always had a smile on her face while greeting people and became very well known while working the Polls for all elections. 

Theresa absolutely loved college football, even though she would walk out of the room when the games got too stressful. She also loved watching horse racing. She enjoyed having a summer rental on Hampton Beach and watching the waves come in for high tide. Anything that involved being together and family, she cherished. 

Theresa will be missed terribly by all who knew her, especially her family. 

The daughter of the late Antonio J. Ragucci and Mary D’Ambrosio Ragucci, she was the beloved wife of the late Ralph C. Shalsi, loving mother of the late Ralph A. Shalsi, Sr., cherished Nona to Ralph A. “Tony” Shalsi and his wife, Dawn of Sandown, NH and MaryTheresa Michlik and her husband, Ricky of Raymond, NH and great grandmother to Nora, Mitch and Harper Michlik. She is also survived by her loving sisters: Joann Lippi, Diana Culp, Marie Perry, Irma Pascarella and Janet Ringdahl.

Her Funeral will be held from the Paul Buonfiglio & Sons ~ Bruno Funeral Home, 128 Revere Street, Revere, today, Wednesday, December 1 at 8:45 a.m. followed by a Funeral Mass in Immaculate Conception Church, 489 Broadway, Everett, at 10 a.m. Relatives and friends are invited.
