Catarina Patterson is an employee of the Human Services Department and has worked with the City of Everett for 7 years.
What do you do in the City?
1 am a Clerk for Human Services and the Everett Adult Learning Center. I help with all senior services and the food pantry. At Human Services, we provide all different types of assistance such as rent/utility bills, food, etc. We also offer English as a second language classes to our immigrant community. In addition, I speak four languages and can interpret when needed.”
What is your favorite part about working for the City?
“Everett has been my home away from home. I love that I am able to give back to a community that not only has welcomed me with open arms, but that has given me so many opportunities.”
What is the biggest lesson you’ve learned from your role?
“I’ve learned to count my blessings each and every single day. I don’t take anything for granted because things can change in an instant. Tomorrow is not guaranteed.”
What do you like to do when you are not working?
“I enjoy spending time with my family and friends,
and of course my dog and cat. But most of all, I love visiting my family in Portugal!”
