Richard Giordano

Boston University Police Officer for 37 Years

Richard Giordano of Revere, formerly of East Boston, passed away on April 30 at the age of 75.

Richard worked as a police officer for 37 years at Boston University. In his spare time, he enjoyed watching war movies, old westerns and shows on military history. He will be missed by all who knew him.

The cherished son of the late Albert and Serafina (Castorina) Giordano, he was the beloved husband for 35 years of Patricia (Jones, devoted father of Stacey Zolla and her husband, Christopher of Derry, NH, Richard Giordano and his wife, Kristen of Pelham, NH, loving step-father to Robin Noble of Wakefield, Melissa Haugh of North Carolina and Jeffery Blanchard of North Carolina. He also leaves behind 12 grandchildren.

William O’Neill

Foreman at Holy Cross Cemetery for 51 years

William “Duke” O’Neill, 79, passed away in the comfort of his Everett home, surrounded by his loving family and in the presence of his God on April 28 following a long illness.

He was the Foreman at Holy Cross Cemetery for 51 years and a member of LUNA, Local 380. 

The beloved husband of 46 years of Barbara (Williams) O’Neill, he was the devoted father of William O’Neill, Jr. and his wife, Myra of No. Toledo, OH, Noreen Evangelista and her husband, Anthony of Wakefield, Cheryl Grava and her husband, Peter of Medford, Christopher O’Neill and Colleen O’Neill and her life partner, Keith Michenzie, all of Everett, Caryn Bennett and her husband, Paul of Saugus and Colin O’Neill and his wife, Dani of Nashua, NH; proud grandfather to Benjamin, Keira, Clover, William, Shawmut, Circa and Nova; dear brother of the late Vincent, Noreen and Patricia O’Neill; the lovingly respected brother-in-law to Michael Williams and his wife, Cecelia of Danvers and Nancy Tewksbury of Everett; loving uncle to Ryan Williams and his wife, Lynn of Washington State, Kathleen Williams and her partner, Paul Girouard of Portland, ME and Raymond Tewksbury and his wife, Tammy of Winter Haven, FL. “Duke” also leaves special friends: Lynn Thornton and her husband, James Sliker of Jamaica Plain, Susan Capomaccio and her husband, John of Saugus. “Duke” also leaves an army of extended family, friends and colleagues of 51 years at Holy Cross Cemetery, Malden.

Family and friends are invited to attend a Memorial Funeral Mass on Friday, May 7 in the Immaculate Conception Church, 487 Broadway, Everett at 11 a.m. Mourners are instructed to report directly to church.

Visiting Hours have been respectfully omitted and interment will be held privately at Holy Cross Cemetery, Malden.

Mandates during this pandemic are still in force, facial masks must be worn in the church and social distancing maintained.
