James Breen, Jr.

His generosity will never be forgotten

James T. “Jim” Breen Jr., formerly of Everett, died Friday, Oct. 12 at Lakes Region General Hospital in Meredith, NH after a long illness with an auto immune disease. He was 75 years old.

Jim was born on Feb. 22, 1943 in Medford, the son of James T. Breen Sr. and Pearl Marie (Rideout) Breen. Hegrew up in Somerville and eventually moved to Meredith with his wife, Louann, where he has resided for the last 25 years.

Jim worked as the manager of Inter-lakes Mobile Home Park. He enjoyed woodworking, riding a motorcycle, boating and reading. He was also an avid swimmer and in high school Jim was a High Diver State Champion. Jim was a talented mechanic and often referred to as “McGuyver”.

Jim’s generosity will never be forgotten, he was always willing to lend a helping hand to those who needed it and his family meant everything to him.

Jim is survived by his devoted and loving wife of 34 years and best friend for 42 years, Louann (Porcaro) Breen; a son, William Breen; two daughters, Carol Breen and Pearl Waddington; seven grandchildren: Christopher, Ashley, Gwendolyn, Jessica, Kenneth, Kayla, and Shawn; four great-grandchildren: Jolene, Jayden, Owen, and Dalton; a brother, Mike Breen and his wife, Laura; a brother-in-law, William Porcaro and his wife, Cheryl, many nieces and

nephews and his dog, Pasha. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by two brothers, John and Ernest Breen.

A private graveside service will be held Friday, Oct. 19 at 11 a.m. at the Meredith Village Cemetery, Route 3 Meredith, NH.Friends and Family are invited to a celebration of Jim’s Life to be held on Saturday, Oct. 20 from noon to 2 p.m. at Hart’s Turkey Farm Restaurant, 233 Daniel Webster Highway, Meredith, NH.

Peter Paul Hughes

A true “Gentle Giant”

Peter Paul Hughes of Beverly, formerly of Everett, died on Oct. 5 after a brief illness.  He was 70 years old.

Peter lived a special life that was full of joy and love.  He was a graduate of Everett Vocational High School.  He worked for many years at Boston University.  He was proud of his accomplishments and his family.  He loved a good time.  His particular love and interest was music.  All who knew him admired his extensive collection of classic Rock.  Many spoke of him as being a “gentle giant”.  It was true.

The son of the late Margaret T. (Connolly) and John F. Hughes, Jr. of Everett, he is survived by his beloved sister and best friend, Karen Hughes of East Kingston, NH and his brothers: Dennis B. Hughes and his wife, Diane (Nuzzolo) of Cape Neddick, ME, W. Patrick Hughes and his wife, Carole (Basino) of Stratham, NH and J. Michael Hughes and his late wife, Judith (Desrosiers) formerly of Revere.  He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, grand niecesnd grand nephews, all of whom held a special place in “Uncle Peter’s” heart and life.

Richard ‘Richie’ Dumas

Of Everett

Richard C. “Richie” Dumas of Everett died on Oct. 7.

He was the beloved husband of the late Jacqueline (Anzuoni), brother-in-law of Nicholas Anzuoni, Jr., Gail Middleton and Sandra Chisholm. He was predeceased by three brothers and is also survived by nieces, nephews and many friends.

Richard D. Cummings of Everett died on Oct. 8 at the age of 56.

He was the beloved father of Kaitlin Riley, loving son of the late Francis and Virginia Cummings, dear brother of Lisa Liston and her husband, James of Stoneham, Kevin Cummings of Cambridge, Kathleen Pescatore and her husband, Ronald of Revere and  LoriRezendes and her husband, Carl of Saugus; cherished uncle of Nikki, Cassie and Michael Liston of Stoneham, Michael Vitukevich of Everet, and Jessica, Ashley and Amanda Rezendes of Saugus. Hilda McCarthy

Of Haverhill, formerly of Everett

Hilda M. (Barrett) McCarthy of Haverhill, formerly of Everett, entered into eternal rest on Thursday, Oct. 11 in the High Point Hospice House in Haverhill after a period of failing health. She was 88 years old.

Born in Everett, Hilda lived in various cities, finally settling in Haverhill for many years. With only a high school education, Hilda, with hard work and determination, was able, with her late husband, Jack to bring up their eight  wonderful and respectful children.

She was the beloved wife of the late John P. McCarthy, Jr., dear and devoted mother of John P. McCarthy of Kennebunk, ME, Michael McCarthy and his wife, Joann of Farmington, NH, Maureen Wilson and her husband, Michael of Haverhill, Rosemary Dyer and her husband, Michael of Bradford, Gerald McCarthy and his wife, Kristine of Hampstead, NH, Peter McCarthy of Malden, Paul McCarthy and his wife, Wendy of Dublin, Ireland and Alan McCarthy and his wife, Patti of Topsfield. She was the sister of Kay Hibbs of N. Carolina, Theresa Foley of Franklin, Jean Tammaro of Exeter, NH, Peggy Eliseo of Framingham, Leo Barrett of Everett and the late Gerald and Betty Barrett; loving grandmother of Erin and Andrew Calabrese, Amber McCarthy, Kevin McCarthy, Neil McCarthy, Michael and Hannah McCarthy, Heather and Scott Lister, Steven McCarthy, Michael Wilson, Kelly and Tom Sullivan, Kristen Wilson, Elizabeth and Chris Doucette, Michael and Candice Dyer, Keegan McCarthy, Laura McCarthy and wife, Hayley Bromeling, Jessi McCarthy, Madelyn McCarthy, Emily McCarthy, Olivia McCarthy and Alexa McCarthy and great-grandmother of Sean McCarthy, Henry and Genevieve Lister, Tom Sullivan, Sawyer and Finley Doucette and Michael Dyer and the cousin of Leo Byrnes of Melrose.
