An assistant coach on John DiBiaso’s staff for nine seasons, Pierre, 31, was introduced as the new head football coach of the Everett High football team at a press conference March 1 at the school.

Supt. of School Frederick Foresteire made the official announcement of whom will be replacing DiBiaso, “the greatest high school football coach of all time.”

“Theluxon Pierre is a graduate of Everett High School, Class of 2005,” said Foresteire. “He played in multiple Super Bowls for Everett High School. He played for four Greater Boston League championship teams. He captained the team in 2005 and he played defensive end for UMass.”

Foresteire told the gathering that Pierre has “the personality and the work ethic” to continue the excellent tradition of Everett High football.

Pierre thanked Foresteire, Assistant Superintendents Charles Obremski and Kevin Shaw, EHS Principal Alex Naumann and Vice Principal Christopher Barrett for the opportunity.

“I also want to thank coach John DiBiaso for being a father figure to me from the day I started here even until now,” said Pierre. “I’m excited. I think we have a great plan in place to keep this program going. As Mr. Foresteire said, ‘I’ve played here, I’ve been coaching here. I’m all about Everett and I have been my whole life.”

Pierre said he’s ready to put in the long hours that his predecessor did to make the program so successful.

“We’ll do our best,” said Pierre. “We will definitely work hard. I promise you that I will work my hardest. I know what it takes because I watched John DiBiaso coach for 13 years.

“I think I’m ready but if I’m not, it’s a little late to not be ready,” added Pierre, displaying his charismatic personality and fine sense of humor with a witty remark that drew warm laughter from the crowd.

The Theluxon Pierre Era has begun at Everett High School.
