Helen Rogers

Retired executive secretary

Helen P. (McCarthy) Rogers, a lifelong resident of Everett, passed away at home on November 29. She was 93 years old.

She was born in Everett, attended Everett public schools and graduated with the Class of 1941. Helen was an executive secretary retiring from IPI Chemical Company in Cambridge.

She was the daughter of the late Henry and Marion (McCarthy) McCarthy; beloved wife of the late Everett Police Officer James Rogers; dear and devoted mother of James J. Rogers, retired Everett Chief of Police/former Chairman of the Everett School Committee and his companion, Shirley Barron of Dennis and Thomas J. Rogers, retired Lieutenant Acton Police Dept. and his wife, Cheryl Cohan Rogers of Acton; sister of the late John H. McCarthy of Everett; cherished grandmother of: Jayne Rogers, Caitlin Rogers, Meghan Rogers O’Barr, Brihgid Rogers Weeks and Shaun Rogers and great-grandmother of Matthew Rogers and Stephen O’Barr. Helen also leaves many nieces and nephews.

Funeral arrangements were by the Cafasso & Sons Funeral Home, Everett. Interment was in Holy Cross Cemetery, Malden. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Helen’s memory to Everett Police Mutual Aid and/or Acton Police Association would be sincerely appreciated.
