The Everett City Council met briefly on Monday night with a short agenda, but one that included some good news for local law enforcement efforts.
Three veteran police officers have been added to the ranks of the Everett Police Department, after the three officers transferred to Everett from their previous departments. The addition of veteran officers to the department is good news, as it will help make the officers more effective on patrols more quickly.
The new officers that were confirmed by the Council Monday night and sworn in by City Clerk Michael Matarazzo are Nuno Almeida who has served on the Transit Police Department for 11 years, Tracy Arsenault a seven year veteran of the Chelsea Police Department, and Natanael Gouveia who was previously a police officer in Revere for four years.
The new officers are expected to be able to join the shift rotation right away, helping to ensure ample police efforts through the busy summer months.
