In a great display of school and community spirit, eighth-grade students at the Parlin School in Everett raised $1,042 for the Jimmy Fund and Dana-Faber Cancer Institute in Boston. As a reward for their fundraising efforts, the students attended the 2016 Scooper Bowl on City Hall Plaza, where they were able to eat unlimited ice cream. The Jimmy Fund solely supports Boston’s Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, raising funds for adult and pediatric cancer care and research to improve the chances of survival for cancer patients around the world. Since its founding in 1948, the Jimmy Fund has raised millions of dollars through thousands of community fundraising events.
