Coakley, Baker Win Governor Primaries Here

Everett voters followed the lead of those around the state Tuesday night as Massachusetts Attorney General Martha Coakley and Republican Charles Baker each won their parties’ nominations for Governor.

Coakley earned a nearly 51-percent victory over challengers Steve Grossman and Donald Berwick on the Democratic side and Baker grabbed 75-percent of the Everett Republican vote for Governor.

In other contested primary races, Stephen Kerrigan earned nearly 59 percent of the vote in the Dem race for Lieutenant Governor, Maura Healey won Everett in her bid to replace Coakley as Attorney general, besting Warren Tolman here and Barry Finegold won Everett in his bid to be the next State Treasurer.
