One of the sweetest elements of Christmas is that expression of sheer delight on a child’s face while he grasps his mother’s hand tightly before meeting Santa Claus. He fidgets in line, looking over the crowd on his tip toes; as a list of things he wants to say to Santa rush through his mind. On Dec. 6, the Everett Co-Operative Bank hosted a Santa greeting during the night of the tree lighting ceremony. There were live carols accompanied by a pianist, cookies, and a welcoming Nutcracker on stilts.
“The people are excited. It’s a great time of the year,” said Liz Jones, President. “We do this every year. Ever since the tree lighting, we open the bank and have pictures with Santa. Everyone looks forward to it.”
