Multiple scholarship recipient Rebecca Merriman is pictured with her parents, Susan and David, and her grandmother, Louise Downing, at the 2013 Everett High School Scholarship Awards Night inside the Frederick F. Foresteire Center for the Performing Arts. The scholarship awards night is one of the most anticipated events on the EHS calendar, as 121 students were awarded more than $135,000 in scholarships to further their education. The generosity of residents, foundations, civic organizations, clubs, and members of the Everett Public Schools community make the scholarships possible. Students are honored for their success in academics, arts, vocational studies, athletics, and community service. Of Everett High’s 451 graduates, 81 percent are attending more than 70 different institutions of higher learning this fall. Fifty-seven members of the Class of 2013 are members of the National Honor Society.
