residents for the candlelight vigil.

Mayor Carlo DeMaria wishes to thank all of those who joined in last week’s candlelight vigil remembering those who were impacted by the Boston Marathon tragedy.

Hundreds of residents joined together with the Mayor at the 9/11 Memorial Park in Everett Square as Bishop Brown and Reverend Coots spoke words of comfort and support and led prayers for those affected.  In attendance were local and state officials, including State Senator Sal DiDomenico, State Representative Wayne Matewksy, and members of the Police and Fire Departments including the Honor Guard.

Chief Steven Mazzie spoke of the important role the Everett Police Department played throughout the crisis, from the day of the bombing to the arrest of the second suspect. Attendees paid their respect to the law enforcement officials who exhibited courage during the crisis and continue to protect the state of Massachusetts every day.
