Edna Cantalupi

Registered Nurse and State Social Worker

Edna Cantalupi of Saugus, formerly of Everett, died at home on December 2.

She was born on May 29, 1927 in Boston, one of five children of the late Joseph and Amelia Cantalupi. She was raised in Everett, attended the Everett Schools and continued her education at the Mount Auburn Hospital School of Nursing where she studied to become a registered nurse. In addition to being an RN, she was a social worker for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts in the Welfare Department for many years. Her greatest joy was her family and she loved spending time with them and with her extended family of nieces and nephews and great nieces and great nephews.

She was the sister of Genevieve Arsenault of Everett, Rosemarie Folan of Stoneham and the late Joseph and Mary.

Funeral arrangements were by the Murphy O’Hara Funeral Home of Everett. Burial was in Holy Cross Cemetery, Malden. Memorial Donations may be sent in her name to the Saugus Public Library, 295 Central Street, Saugus, MA 01906.

Judith Chinal

Of Everett

Judith M. (Murphy) Chinal of Everett died on December 8.

The loving mother of Steven, Justin, Samantha, Michaela and Caeden, all of Everett, she was the daughter of Robert and Madlynne Murphy of Andover and the former wife of Jeffrey Chinal of Everett.

Her Funeral will be held from The DeVito-O’Donnell Funeral Home, 1145 Mass Avenue, Arlington,  Friday at 9 a.m. followed by a Funeral Mass at 10 a.m. in St. Agnes Church. Burial will be private. Joyce Foley

Of Melrose

Joyce E. (McFarland) Foley of Melrose died on December 6.

She was the beloved wife of the late James G. Foley; loving mother of Michael Elgart of Wakefield, Sandy Swain and her husband, David of New Hampshire, Scott Elgart and his wife, Marie of Melrose, Lisa Wilder and her husband, Gregg of New Hampshire, Jim Foley and his wife, Kathryn of Hopedale, Matthew Foley and his girlfriend, Pamela Maguire of Everett and Cathy Kennedy and her husband, James of Byfield; caring sister of the late Lenore Wong and Violet Carmichael. She is also survived by 16 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Her funeral service will be held at the Gately Funeral Home, 79 W. Foster St., Melrose on Tuesday, December 18 at 11 a.m. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. William Mackenzie, III

Of Everett

William J. Mackenzie, III of Everett died on December 1.

He was the husband of Janice (Monterose); father of Kristy and her fiancé, Anthony Nykorchuz and William J., IV and is survived by his companion, Barbara Davis.  He was the son of the late Mildred (Higgins) Kisthart and his stepfather Burrell; brother of the late Steven Mackenzie; stepbrother to Susan (Kisthart) Doney and her husband, Jeff of Pennsylvania;, Burrell Kisthart and Arthur Kisthart, both of Malden and loving grandfather to two grandchildren:  William J. Mackenzie V and Jeremie Mackenzie.

Julie H. (Thistle) Moore of Everett died on December 4.

The beloved wife of the late John W. “Jack” Moore, Sr. with whom she shared 51 years of marriage, she was the devoted mother of John W. Moore, Jr. and his wife, Debbie of Melrose; dear sister of the late Lillian LeGrow, Chesley Thistle, and Ann Goobie; cherished grandmother of Arielle, Craig, and Evan Moore, all of Melrose.

Keith H. Lombardi of the Orlando area of Florida, formerly of Everett, died on November 30.

He was the father of Brittani of Peabody, son of Carl of Peabody and his late wife, Carmella, brother of Carl and his wife, Maria of Everett, Karen Connelly and her husband, Patrick of Braintree, Kevin J. and his wife, Judy of Peabody and the late Kevin A. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.

Christine ‘Tina’ (Garofano) Sorrenti of
Malden, formerly of Everett, died on December 3. She was the beloved wife of the late John J. and was the 12th child born from a loving family of 15. She was the daughter of the late Euplio and Tomasina (Pizzano) Garofano. She is survived by her beloved sister in law Ann McGee of Lynn and was predeceased by her beloved brothers and sisters in law of the Sorrenti family. She is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, grand nieces and grand nephews.

Maria A. “Mary” (Pesa) Vardaro of Medford, formerly of Everett, died on December 3.

She was the beloved wife of the late Nicola; devoted mother of Rose Marie Huska and her husband, Mark of Whitman, Annette Vardaro and her fiancé, Trent Alexis of Medford; loving grandmother of Kristin, Jennifer and Stephanie; sister of the late Carlo Pesa. She is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.

Mario Masella

Of Revere

Mario A. Masella of Revere died unexpectedly on December 1.

A US Air Force veteran of the Vietnam Era, he was the beloved son of Mary (Ragucci) and the late Mario Masella of Florida; dear and devoted father of Maryann P. Masella of Winchester and Alexander Masella of Arlington; dear brother of Joanne Mazzie of Everett, June Sanfilippo of Florida and the late William Masella; loving nephew of Annette Patten, Ida Natale, Gloria Ragucci, all of Everett and Carmella Natale of Dracut and the former husband of Pilar (Hernandez). He is also survived by several nieces, nephews and cousins.
